Hi. It’s David AvRutick. If you are saying, ‘who the heck is this guy??’ check out the ‘News Flash’ box on the homepage. There is some- um- news.
Now that we are all on the same page, I am really excited to be making my first contribution to the ‘Front.’ Phil has done such a great job communicating with all you Folboters, I have to admit to feeling some pressure here!
With all that is going on at Folbot, I can’t help but be reminded of the saying, ‘the more things change, the more they stay the same.’ Buying Folbot and taking on the role of President is certainly a big change for the company – we already have a new logo, are increasing the staff’s medical benefits and will be adding a couple of picnic tables for everyone to be able to eat outside under some of the beautiful live oak trees (right by the loading dock!). As we move ahead, there are certain to be more changes – new boats, different technology, new colors – hey, y’all tell me what we should do. I would love to hear from you (email@example.com).
But as we change there is going to be a lot that is the same. First and foremost, Phil is staying around. He is going back to his first love, which is designing boats for you to paddle. The truth be known, if he hadn’t agreed to do this, we wouldn’t have bought the company! He has moved into his development shop full time and is going to be working hard to make sure we have the best products that we can produce. And, so you will know what he is up to, we will see if we can get him to post some updates here every once in a while.
One other thing that is going to stay the same is Folbot’s customer service. We will continue to do whatever it takes to make you happy. And, we are going to work everyday to try to improve on how we did the day before. If we screw it up, LET ME KNOW!
Finally, I thought you might like to know a little about Tony Mark and me. We bring a lot of experience and energy to Folbot. Tony comes out of the world of technology, where he has taken two companies public (you may have heard of Avid Technologies – if you haven’t, you’d be surprised how Tony has affected your lives). I have a bit of an eclectic background – lawyer, book publishing executive, college president. But what ties us both together and to Folbot is our excitement for the product, a commitment to excellence and the desire to make Folbot grow and thrive into the future. Oh yeah – we think paddling kayaks is pretty cool too.
We are thrilled to be part of the Folbot family. Call home sometime- let us know how we are doing.
