Tropical Storm Fay is leaving its mark on the Southeast.
Here in Charleston the outer bands of the storm are sweeping though on a regular basis. Not only is this testing Charleston’s storm water system, it makes for interesting paddling.
I was out in a Kiawah on the Wando River earlier in the week — having a meeting (why meet at Starbucks when you can paddle!). I am pleased to say that I was able to outrace an ominous black cloud which cropped up that was spewing lightning and hard rain, and the Kiawah handled the high chop in the river with aplomb.
I am thinking about keeping it in my car just in case the storm water system fails.
