Try, Try, Try Again — Citibōt in NYC

The Manhattan Island Foundation is having another event this weekend, starting at 2:15 on Saturday the 13th, after which you can give the Citibot a try — the Little Red Lighthouse Swim.

I don’t know about all of you, but I grew up loving the Little Red Lighthouse. Standing proudly beneath the George Washington Bridge, the LRL was always a favorite sight to spot as we drove down the Henry Hudson Parkway. And who can forget the classic book, The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge, in which the LRL comes to understand his importance despite his small stature compared to the gigantic bridge being built almost on top of him?

Well, in any event, there is a swim being held (with the Citibots being escort kayaks) from the GW Bridge — I mean the Little Red Lighthouse — to Clinton’s Cove (Pier 96) at the Hudson River Park on West 56th Street. Come on down to the finishing area and learn about the Citibot and take one for a spin!
