Happy National Day

With the upcoming July 4th celebration of American Independence Day, it seems appropriate that we should acknowledge the recent celebration of Greenland’s National Day and the introduction of “selvstyre”  — which means, among other things, that Greenlanders  are recognized as an independent people by the UN.

Why Greenland, you may ask? Well, because it is home to Chris Paton, our intrepid Folbot paddler and expeditioner. Chris participated in Uummannaq’s National Day celebration — including some kayak racing in his Cooper and fishing with some local children for capelin.
