As Folbots evolve, not only do the designs sometimes change but the materials used in the kayaks may change as well.

About six or seven years ago the cockpit nose pieces on the large cockpit Folbots were changed from aluminum to a plastic material. This was done for reasons including durability and the ability of the material to withstand salt corrosion.

While we still sell the aluminum ones as replacement parts to customers with older models, we decided that we should look for other uses as well.

Anyone for a Folbot pen holder?

  1. David, that is a great idea! I have been using my aluminum cockpit nose as a pen holder since I bought my Folbot sail rig that uses the “ace of clubs” nose piece. I’ll post a picture on General info section of the forum.
