Folbot’s home for the last 56 years has been in a calm “industrial park” nestled along the banks of the Ashley River. One of the oldest sites of its kind in Charleston, it’s full of grand live oak trees dripping with spanish moss and is generally fairly quiet.
All that is changing this week.
F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets from the 333rd Fighter Squadron are using the Charleston area as their training ground for a week or so.
With the Charleston International Airport and the Charleston Air Force Base just a few miles away, we have been subjected to the intense noise created by these aircraft as they launch themselves into the sky.
I caught one zooming by yesterday.
So if you call and wonder what that noise is, now you know.
